Smaller Photo Files
WebP commonly shrinks JPG photos while keeping similar visual quality, reducing page weight and improving load times.

Quality Control
Choose aggressive compression for thumbnails or higher quality for product photos, hero images, and portfolio work.
Photo-Friendly
Designed for camera photos, exported design mockups, banners, and large JPEG assets that slow down websites.
Modern Web Format

COMMON QUESTIONS

WebP can deliver similar visual quality at smaller file sizes than JPG. That means faster page loads, less bandwidth, and lighter image-heavy websites.

Most normal photos shrink well. Some tiny images or already heavily compressed JPGs may shrink only a little, and a few can grow. The result summary shows exact before and after sizes.

The default 80 is a good web balance. Use 60 for thumbnails or background images where size matters most, and 92 for product photos, portfolios, or images with fine detail.

Yes, but JPG files do not have transparency to begin with, so this tool outputs normal opaque WebP images. For transparent images, use the PNG to WebP tool.

Modern Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, and Android browsers support WebP. If you support old browsers, serve WebP with JPG fallback using <picture> or your CMS image pipeline.

No. Conversion happens entirely inside your browser with JavaScript and the Canvas API. TPL Tools never receives your photos; only an anonymous conversion counter updates after success.
